Our association, based in Muttenz, was founded on July 1, 1998 in Zurich with the aim of supporting the institution PROBIGUA (PROyecto BIbliotecas GUAtemala), which was founded in 1992 by Rigoberto Zamora Charuc in Antigua Guatemala. The goal of PROBIGUA and our PROBIGUA association Switzerland is:     

To promote literacy in small rural schools by providing these schools with essential school supplies such as notebooks, pencils and books.     

Set up mini-libraries in small rural elementary schools.     

Set up a fund to provide education for destitute students.    

Procurement of used PCs as well as musical instruments for distribution to teachers' seminars, major schools and libraries.

 

The association is politically and religiously neutral. The membership fee is at least Fr. 20.-, for legal persons Fr. 200.- per year.
